One of the lad-gangs that has my addy doesn't quite seem to grasp the concept of BCCing e-mail. I regularly get letters that have all the recipients' names listed in the header. One time I get a letter that had a 55-inch column of names in the "To" column. (Of course, all victim's addys are sent to a mod).
I was wondering, do most lads do this a lot? Or do I just have an unusually dumb gang? |

Answer: Yes. 
OK maybe stupid is the wrong word, because many lads are quite intelligent. Their inherent laziness however, when combined with their blinding greed, is usually what makes them so easy to bait. I've seen quite a few lads do that, and not just the "short-bus" ones. Compared to some of the crap that they do (their photo attempts, their documents, their ASEM's, feeble excuses, the list could go forever), this is actually small change. It could be that the lad is hoping people won't notice the "confidential" letter in their inbox was also sent to 500 other addresses!
DISCLAIMER: While I do still make fun of them, many scammers are indeed much smarter than they appear and calling them stupid would be a dangerous underestimation. Fortunately, they're not smarter than us! |

^^ Yeah, I think lazy, or indeed rushed are more accurate than stupid. I've come across mostly clever scammers, or at least those that I target are a bit more astute. They're more of a challenge.
Don't forget that many lads are on a limit, time wise. Those cafes charge by the hour! And haven't we all pressed "send" and then immediately thought "Oh no!" straight afterwards if we were in a hurry? |
