Spring is almost here! And that means planting your gardens.
So what will you grow this year? I've already got my seeds in a little Jiffy Greenhouse so they will be ready to plant in their respective containers next month.
Kudos to my landlady who has given me permission to grow climbing beans on my balcony! It took some bargaining, though. I had to agree to also growing tomatoes and giving some of them to her.
What I will be attempting to grow:
Kentucky Wonder Beans
Bell Peppers (Grand Bell Mix)
Balcony Hybrid Tomatoes
Wild Flax
Genovese Basil
Dark Opal Basil
Common Thyme
Tarragon
Catnip
True Lavender
Oregano
Broad Leaf Sage

Well I was actually thinking about growing some of my own chilli's but I think I'd have to use Hydroponics for that, I'd love my own supply of chilli's! |

In the yard, potatoes and onions, the only plants that can withstand the drought, gophers and the deer here, the rest is easier to get at the neighbors, the Hutterite Colony. And of course a few acres wheat, barley, oats and rye, say about 3040 acres, the advantage of living very rural |

Well... if it is like last year, about 70 tons of alfalfa/grass mix for horsy feed. "We" do a small garden too [corn, green beans, melons, tomatoes, potatos, okra].
Oh and I ususally raise a little cane too. |

I'll send you some. They really are wonderful to eat! They are vines so will be easy to grow in a smaller space, if you give them something to cling to. |

@419weasel
Sorry wasn't thinking and you're welcome here, but it's dry land farming, I'll clean and turn over a patch for you as big as you like, all the horse manure you can handle or cow manure if you want to. But rain? I can't help you with that, I stopped when I had sun dried tomatoes on the plant and beans with no seed.
The hutterites have a water system and plenty of potable water, I haul mine in 5 gallon bottles. It's always something, in Holland I had the rain and only 6 by 10 meters to grow on, here I have the square meters and no rain.
Hey, at least I get a nice tan |

I love to vegetable garden. I'm going to grow San Marzano paste tomatoes, and the other desert stuff, squash, pumpkins. Oh, and Opium poppies. Beautiful flowers. |
