I have had several of these scam e-mails.

But what really did surprise me one evening, was when I got a Skype pop up window open. And there was this stranger asking me questions and generally trying to engage me in conversation, and ingratiate him/herself.

I understand now how they come by victims e-mail addresses. But I cannot figure out how he came by my Skype details.

Any ideas ?

Me and the Prof get (among other people) get some spam now and again using skype Laughing

just block them if you don't know them, or if it turns out to be a lad and you're using fake details with the skype account, bait away Very Happy

i did the dl for skype, have my first bait wanting to talk, K7 is active. any other quick tips. I know this is general chat, you can pm me for any scamming tips.

Hmmn, that sounds like what I,ve done wrong.

The account isnt set up for baiting, its older than before I'd even heard of scambaitng

^^ PM me if you want to use the acct for baiting. I'll tell you how to set up a new ID and set your privacy settings/get ready to call/receive calls/whatever. Don't bother trying to use that acct for baiting.
