There is one day left to see this Horizon programme (iplayer), if you haven't already.

One thing it comes up with is that to make someone more likely to choose a risky alternative, they should be presented with a loss scenario - give them something and then take it away, rather than offer them some gain to start with.

It strikes me that that is exactly how the best baits and in fact the best scams work. The money is dangled right in front of the lad's or the victim's nose until they can smell it. Then it is snatched away and they find that they have to take another risk to win it back.

Very interesting. I like stuff like this. Now I have to figure out how to make lads have contact w/ a hot beverage b4 reading my emails. Laughing
