We all know the lads are idle bastards but do you slack at work ?

Not as much as it pisses the pilots off when you press the wrong button! Laughing

I'm a truly idle get. If I'm in the office, I'd estimate that I spend about 80% of my time surfing, most of it on eater. It's only when I'm travelling for work that I actually do what I'm supposed to.

I would never work somewhere without a liberal internet policy.

I'm on Eater most of the day, checking my accounts, generally surfing, but I get my work done. I come straight in & do at least 3 important things, smoke break, then allow myself some surfung time, then do a couple things I'm tired of looking at, more surfing, smoke break, more surfing, then realize something due the next day is at the bottom of my pile for some reason, whiz thru that, more surfing, think to myself I should really do some work, but open up something, then more surfing, then get back to work so I can hurry up & go home so I can surf at will.

It's harder to slack in shcool than in work, but I'd say most of my free time in college is spent on the Internet.

I can't access my email or the Eater forum at work - there's a very strict access policy. I envy those with more lenient workplaces!

How do you stand it?

One of the 1st things I find out about any job, what is your email/internet policy? I try to find someone on the inside if at all possible to give me the lowdown. My last job was waaaay more lenient than the one I have now. But I can access Eater, email, & various shopping websites, so I can deal. As long as it's not "inappropriate" I can get access.

I am on a 650' product tanker 8 months a year... 120 days on and 60 days off... I live, work, eat, sleep, shit ect. here... work 12 hrs day/ 7 days a week for 4 months at a time... so yeah I screw off any chance i get.
I am a maintenance engineer and usually work unsupervised on deck. There are certain times I can go hide but must make appearances regularly. but usually if my hands are dirty and tools in hand... I am safe...
I do have a cellular modem for my laptop so I get online anytime i am in my room. on eater mostly at night after 8pm ... but have to be within cell phone range.

I have 2 jobs. One is an outside tech for a telephone company, and the other is being an officer in our Union Local. When I work outside, usually 1 or 2 days a week, I have no internet access. While at the Union Hall the other days of the week I am always on-line. The Skype chatroom likes it better when I work outside Laughing
