I was just wondering if other countries are so damn facinated by movie stars... Is everyones life so boring that they need to watch the drama of a personality who happens to have a job that puts them on television... Here in the US you cant turn on a news channel without seeing a million stories about who overdosed on drugs, Britneys nut house escape, Anna Nicoles babies happenings and Paris Hiltons latest party.
Personally I could care less and would like to watch the news for actual news... Is it the same way in other countries ... |

Maybe i shouldnt have used the word movie stars... how bout... Little rich girls from Hollywood... the point is why the hell is the national news filled with BS about any of them... I guess none of them are actually in movies... and my question is... is it like this all over the world or is it just in the states? |

Andy Warhol was right, he just got the duration wrong in some cases.
We now have the bizarre phenomenon of people being famous for being famous, and for youngsters aspiring to "be famous" rather than actually wanting to be, do or achieve anything specific.
I suppose today, the question "Why do you climb mountains?" would not be answered with "Because they are there", but with "To be photographed on the top, then upload it to my MySpace or Facebook page"
