There's a fairly good chance that the Russian Business Network are at least partly involved with Storm and it's speculated by a fair few LEO agencies that a lot of the RBN hierarchy are ex KGB so it fits with the Russian government turning a blind eye. The RBN is behind vast amounts of computer crime and dodgy site hosting and the Russians have never tried to stop them.

Nice article, but I read that Storm is accountable for about 2% of spam delivered, but the new Mega-D worm already accounts for ~30%, so Storm is almost dead and buried.
My spam count has risen almost 500% during the last 4 months...it isn't nice.

@ kurat ~ Use gmail. I rarely get spam, and what does come in never makes it past the spam folder. Except in my catcher account, but that was kind of the point Wink

I love Gmail, but I don't like how the e-mails are being read.

I have my own paid hosting+domain+email, so GMail is out of the question Smile

I have SpamFilters: SpamAsassin on server and well trained Thunderbird, but I like to report my spam to SpamCop, but it's getting cumbersome if you receive ~20+ spam mails a day.

DO THEY REALLY THINK half the world needs V1@gr@???!!!

Me too, but I still use gmail...

Forward your domain email to your gmail account, and set up one or more 'from' aliases in gmail (just up there in the settings - you have to prove you can receive email from the addresses you use) eg [email protected], [email protected], etc.

This way, gmail filters your spam (quite effectively too), gives you 5-10Gig inbox (bigger than my massive 3gig webhost), mail still appears from and to your regular addresses, and you can even pop3/smtp if you want to carry on with Outlook/etc. I use my PDA to pop3/smtp via my gmail account, works a treat Smile
