When I was in 8th grade, school started at 8.30am. My mother worked far away during that time, so she would wake me up at 6.45am when she'd leave for work.

One day she called me but I overslept, and when I woke up again I looked at my analog wristwatch, and it pointed to 8.20am! I rushed out of bed, put some clothes on, and stormed out of the house. As I rushed through the streets, I couldn't help but notice how silent and deserted the city looked. Neverminding that, I reached school, and the door was locked! Aside from that, no one else was at school. "Maybe it's an holyday and I've missed it...".

When I got home, I went to the computer and started playing, happy about not having school, but around half an hour later I glanced at the digital watch on the telephone, and it said: 8.10am. Embarassed

It seems like I misred my watch's hands, since after consulting it more carefully marked the same hour as the digital watch.

And I went to school.

Today I found a nickel. There's an interesting story behind this nickel. In 1957, I remember it was, I got up in the morning and made myself a piece of toast. I set the toaster to three - medium brown...

I long for the good old days when during military training we were only allowed minimal contact with the outside world...

A little bit of advice from an ex-service person to a current serviceman.
I spent many years as a serving member of Her Majesty's Royal Britannic Aquatic Hussars, the Royal Belarussian Rifle Brigade and the Belarus Submarine Command.
I've been a member of 419Eater for longer than most.
Our membership, which includes many service personnel, ex-service persons, adults and minors, does not normally feel the need to start topics about things like "it's raining" and I missed the bus this morning".
In anticipation of your next thread "what I had for breakfast", my advice is for you to keep that to yourself.
Giving away military secrets is frowned upon in any society. Wink

Well the point of the thread was to talk about present times and how insignificant problems are taken much more serious due to mass commercialism of tiny problems to the point of absurdity. But I am being torn up for being a post whore, so I don't wish for this to go on anymore.
