I am in the work study program at my school, so if there is a two-hour delay, no school for me. However, I didn't know there was a two hour delay today (its just raining outside) soI got dressed and stuff and caught the metro bus to school. When I finally got there, I found it was informed of the delay, so I caught the bus again. It was cold and rainy as I waited TWICE for a bus, all because of a little rain.

You can be:

Active Military
Reserve Military
National Guard

And in some cases if you are young, on the "delayed entry program"

I am a private in the US Army Reserve who went to basic training in the delayed entry program.

bad weather hmmmmph... when i was his age i had to walk to school 10 miles though 20 feet of snow, uphill, both ways, and with no shoes on. and they started school 5 hours early just to tick us off AND it was july Mad

*edit* cuz while i was thawing out my feet at school i missed spelling class

I come from the land of hurricanes and I can only remember schools being shut down two or three times in my schooling because of rain. Weak. However, I have never heard of someone complaining about school being closed. That's just weird.

And on those days did they make you go to school 28 hours a day and pay 10 pence for the privileged of going to school like they did to us? And that is in the US, you know how HARD it is to find 10 pence here?

(what is a "pence" anyway????)

28 hour a day... I WISH, we had to go for 36 hours a day 17 days a week. and pay 42 dracmas for the PRIVLAGE to go. and if we were real good and did the 8325 pages of homework every day they would give us a big bowl a mud to eat for our 4 min. lunch time.

We Scots had to do all that then count out the monies to be paid in pounds, shillings and pence.
Thats 20 shillings to the pound
12 pennies to the shilling
2 ha'pennies to the penny.....

The pounds shillings and pence was pre 1971 ( ? )
It was also known as LSD

We now have pence and pounds
100 pence = one pound

10pence is equal to one (old ) shilling

Most of the rest of Europe have Euros

Why do Americans call one of their small coins a penny? (I'm not sure which one it is... maybe the 5 cent?)
