Okay, I know it's just spam, no scam, but since it's a bit weird I wanted to share it:

I am aware that with that "story-spam", as I like to call it, they try to undermine your spam-filter by posting lots of words that might be in legit mails, and I've seen spam in many different languages, but I've never seen spam that greets me in German and then goes on in English. That really confuses me... |

as spam filters improve, the spammers use more and more variations to bypass them. If you really want to know more about spam google 'Russian Business Network' as they host most of the spammers. |

I'm actually quite happy with SpamAssassin, it filters quite nicely. That kind of mail of course goes through, but that doesn't matter really much, most of the crap I get goes to the spam-box.
Thanks for the hint to check, maybe I'll have a look into it if I feel again like diving into spam-protection a bit more.
I've done research before, but more on the technical part on how to tackle certain types of spam, like image-spam or PDF-spam. |
