Someone who said she was Mosley's friend posted a post in defense of Mosley and then added that Mosley never told her that she was promised money.

I told the friend about 4-1-9 and how some scammers tell victims to make the deals "confidential" - I added links to Snopes, 419Eater, etc. and told her to call the Nigerian Embassy to check if Mosley has a visa.

If Mosley does NOT have a visa, Mosley is illegally in Nigeria and whoever invited her there is up to no good.

No you are correct. The different fathers are stepping up and asking the courts for custody of their kids. The buggers they should have done that a lot sooner.

I know most of you believe that its the Nigerian's fault (we can't assume he's a scammer because there is no indication of one), but remember; we were all created with free will. This is the mother's fault solely. I hope she really gets what she deserves. There's so much shit to say here I can't contain it all in one post. I wish I had the honor of deciding her punishment.......

Oh, it's definitely the woman's fault. I don't care if the guy is a scammer or a saint. He didn't force her to book a flight, abandon her children, et cetera.

I wonder if the dude even knew about the woman's kids? It's very easy to omit *extremely important* personal information when you're in touch via the Internet. He might not have any idea that she's a parent. Or she might have told him that the kids' various fathers have custody. Or something else. I don't know.

Wow, have you read people's comments? Most everything I've read blames the woman and not her contact in Nigeria.

That said I think it is fair to assume it was some kind of scam because it's Nigeria, and because she was going there to marry someone whom she'd never met IRL. Who does that?

Unless the woman in mentally ill, it was her fault.

There's no excuse for what she did.

Her attorney was on local tv today, making a lot of excuses...

'the house was clean when she left. The kids trashed it.'

'there was plenty of food in the freezer...'

'this was not a random man she met on the internet. She met him through somebody at her church'. (?)

'she came back willingly'.

Do they extradite runaway mothers from africa????

The house they showed on TV was not ghetto stuff, but looked like it had been trashed pretty badly.

If a HUD rental, how would you like to have these people as neighbors?
talk about your property value going to hell.

Has a video with the attorneys, but not all the excuses you listed. I've seen one picture of the outside of the house, and it looks very nice (two story brick, newer home similar to $200K+ houses in Houston), but I haven't seen the inside.

When I first heard it, I immediately thought it was a love lad - not because he was Nigerian, but because he'd convinced a woman he'd never met to abandon her family and fly halfway around the world to marry him. He could have been martian for all I care, it still sounds like a scam.

C'mon......there's no telling what the man convinced her to do!

Having dealt with too many 'romance scam' victims, I can tell you many are willing to do something very stupid at the drop of a hat, and yes.....going to a third world country is one of them.
This guy may just be a green card hunter....

Not sure what local Houston TV channel it was, but the attorney did make all the claims I parphrased.
