It's best to be a little circumspect groovie1. Many people join with great ambitions and drift away when they find that spectacular baiting is very hard.
Personally, I have never received a trophy, though a mountain of death threats and insults, which is fine for me - and I've reported more scam bank accounts than I can count and dealt with lots of fake sites.
There are two aspects to consider
1 are you achieveing anything worthwhile ?
2 are you having fun and enjoying it ?
There are so many ways to bait and so many different aspects, it's impossible to go through them all - from baiting by phone to hunting down fake web sites and getting them shut down - and what will appeal to you and give you satisfaction is impossible to say.
However, if you take the time to look, there will be some aspect of baiting that will suit you and give you satisfaction. Rushing in too fast may lead to disappointment - so your approach is quite sensible.
Welcome to the fold. |

... never say never
I received 2 scam emails today. So I just tossed my crazy lines out.
I'm certain it will slow them down, stall'em and waste their time. |

Well groovie, if you choose to leave we'll be sad to see you go, but baiting lads just isn't everyone's cup of tea.
I think I speak on everyone's behalf saying this: I don't think you have to be actively baiting to be accepted here, and remember the door's always open. |

^^ as Obi said, sad to see you go, stay, pm me till Cherie finds you a mentor,
it takes a while to settle into the idea here, it's not to blow them away, more waste their time, and frustrate them, and make them wary of anyone that asks questions
There's a thread here that asks who is the greatest baiter?
read the thoughts on there, it takes months to get a trophy, it doesn't take much to frustrate and annoy a scammer if you act normal
Take care, hope to hear from you soon |
