I was walking Tim the wonder dachshund 4 days ago and the little guy insisted on dragging me to this small clump of trees near a park. When we got there, I heard some whimpering and found a box with 5 puppies, 3 were alive, 2 were dead. It was 10 pm and the closest animal hospital was miles away so I took the box home, buried the dead puppies, gave the other 3 a warm bath and some soft food. They were filthy and freezing. I slept with them that night under an electric blanket and they made it through the night in great shape. I took them to the shelter the next day and told them I would take all 3 if they were not adopted before they would be euthanized. Here's a picture of them. The shelter called me at work today... all 3 have found homes. I think God reserves a special place in hell for people who would abandon puppies in the winter.

Yes, he got an extra slim jim AND, he got to sleep with the puppies and me that night. He was very gentle with them and kept nudging them into a pile to keep warm.

Gosh darn it! I want the black and white one! I am about to lose my 16 year old Siamese cat to cancer and there's no way I can be without a furry critter in my house.
God bless you for taking the time and effort to save these little pups.
Now I'm gonna have to go down to the local shelter and try and pick out a new fuzzy fur ball to share my home with. You owe me!

Those puppies are very cute, and it's awesome that you saved them! Leaving a box of puppies out in the cold and snow is totally heartless and I hope they get caught.
