Off-topic, but I had a severe case of alcohol induced hiccups a month or so back. Tried holding my breath but to no avail. Two friends suggested putting a teaspoon of sugar on the back of my tongue - I laughed but they insisted and even went to get the spoonful for me. Sugar went on back of tongue - hiccups disappeared immediately. It worked again (I have lifestyle issues ok?  ) over Christmas, too.... |

I don't drink personally, but I can offer a few suggestions. Lots of caffine, loud music or (even better) a nagging spouse/wife, bright sunlight and more beer. I hope this helps!  |

a nurse told me the best cure was a saline drip with glucose.
(thats what she uses as a hangover cure)
however i cant recomend marmite on buttered toast often enough.
its a miracle cure. |

The best dehydration cure I know of is Lucozade Sport. The best painkiller is Ibruprofen; there's a good scientific reason for that to do with the way it works. I find that Diet Coke, and many other soft drinks give me a hangover. About the only one that's safe is Irn Bru.
I can believe the Marmite cure. There's loads of complex and useful stuff in that goo.
