Day job: writer, currently working on a technical writing project for a Biotech firm. Mom to two teenagers, wife to a computer nerd.

Everything else: big into scuba-diving and underwater photography...skiing...river-rafting...running marathons (3 full, 6 half) & triathlons (2 olympic, one sprint)...traveling...reading (have read everything by John Irving at least twice)...sending controversial letters-to-the-editor about hot-button political topics.

What's been most interesting about this thread is seeing who posts realistically and who posts funny bullshit! Laughing

@Justicebdone - PM me if ya wanna talk triathlons - I'm about to start training again.

Seem to remember they get better after that again. Specially when the honoured matre turn up. Have never actually read the prequals, but recently picked them all up on ebay, thus me reading the series again to refresh first.

Lots of rankin and pratchett fans, but how many other russian lit fans are there? Laughing

I'm a retired Electronic Equipment Field Service Rep for a large Fortune 500 Company. I dabble in PCs, and try to get all my relatives and friends not to click on the email attachments, or visit hokey sites. But they do, so I fix them for exorbitant fees (free dinners at expensive restaurants, etc.) I used to be a very dedicated skier, but after a near death experience where my arthritis prevented the proper execution of a turn at 45 MPH, I gave it up 10 years ago. Hitting trees no longer sounded like fun. I like sailing, but don't have access to a boat now. Crying or Very sad

I don't do much out door stuff in Winter anymore, and dispise gyms. So, i wait for spring to come, so I can hike a bit and search for the next big brook trout hole. I like to camp out in the wilderness, like 10 or 20 miles from the nearest dirt path, if my arthritic body let's me go that far.
And I do love teaming up on mugus here! Very Happy

@big man - found an old copy of 'Heretics of Dune' -might give it another shot, after I've finished re-reading 'The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocolypse'
