When my computer goes online, it's downloading something called dlink. Then each time it downloads dlink(2) dlink(3) etc. Also it is downloading something called viewforum and the same thing viewforum(2) viewforum(3) So each time it goes online it downloads another.
These files are "dreamweaver" files - - so I guess like HTML pages?
Anyone know what this could be - and why my computer is downloading them????? |

To where are these being downloaded?
It sounds like these files are being cached as you browse a website (perhaps this forum), which is perfectly usual behaviour as your browser needs to save a local copy of the file in order to display it.
If your computer is describing the file as a "Dreamweaver" file, this is almost certainly the case (assuming Dreamweaver is your default HTML editor). |

One variation of 'dlink' is an external wireless receiver for laptops without a wireless card. It requires software installed by CD. If you ever used this in the past, it may still be running around on your system.
I don't know why it would try to download dreamweaver files, though. |

Ok - TS - you could be right - I did use an external card for a week a while back.
The files are being saved to my desktop - as dreamweaver files (with the "d") on the icon. Dreamweaver is my default editor.
So, now to figure out why it is doing this "viewforum" over and over - and maybe I can just get it to stop. It's annoying. |

The fix is probably to run the uninstall program, but there will probably still be bits and bobs in your registry.
Running the uninstall should get it to stop doing that, though. |
