Last time I posted pictures from my orphanage bait I was told people wanted t-shirts. Although I cant say "no sooner said than done" (because its taken a few months to organize), Im very happy to report the shirts have now arrived!

For some background, Ive had two groups of lads on the go with this bait for about 14-months. Both groups think I represent a large chemical company that wants to sponsor an orphanage in Africa. Having approved their donations, Ive been keeping the lads busy with all kinds design work, land search activities, budgeting, and much, much more! To get the shirts, I told the team it would be great if they could send some shirts like they made before to put up for silent auction at our Annual Gala Fundraiser. All proceeds would be added to their donation and this would be a fabulous way to make a good impression with the Committee (at last years Gala, a benefactor bid $5k for paperweight just for bit of fun you know! Wink).

Of course, my real idea was to offer the shirts to raise money for Eater. I received 24 shirts in total and have 16 available now for anybody who wants one. They come in a variety of sizes in both white and yellow.

Back:

With help from Sheboppe and Rover, Ive worked out a simple plan. Donate a minimum of $30 to Eater for a Premium Subscription (more if you can), add $10 for shipping, and the shirt is yours anywhere in the world. If you are a Premium Member already, this will count for your renewal. Imagine, a chemical orphanage t-shirt, orange username, and warm fuzzy feeling of supporting Eater all for the bargain price of $40! What could be better?

All donations will be handled through Eaters Paypal channel so your money goes direct to where it is needed most. Just be sure to include a note when you do the Paypal thing saying you want a shirt and what size you need. Supplies are limited so act fast!

The shirts I have now are as follows. If you want to reserve a specific color or size, feel free to post here or send me a PM. Ill try to update this list and keep things current with further posts below.

Yellow
M 2
L 4
XL 2
White
M 2
L 2
XL 3
3XL 1

In case you still arent convinced this would be a GREAT addition to your wardrobe, here are the shirts being modeled by during the land search.

Image

And these are some more pictures from the project launch. After identifying the site, I told them to give out cookies and juice to the community to make a good impression. (Note they had to change the banner because the first site in Soweto wasnt good enough... Very Happy.)

Image

Image

And this is how the shirts arrived. It cost him 840 Rand for postage alone (almost $125).

Image

Finally, to round things off, these are the white shirts I have on offer.

Be sure to get yours now while supplies last!

Well, if there are any left when the 12 Days contest ends, and a shirt that would fit the winner, I may get one for him or her.

That's hilarious. And it's even funnier when you think about the incredible amounts of time they are spending on this. That definitely took a LOT of time.

Thanks everybody! I'm glad you like the shirts and it's really good fun to share the bait like this!

Friday3 -- your remark about lad fashion got me thinking it would be fun to try a lad couture bait next.... I don't know anything about this, but then I'm not a chemist either. Anyway, I'll mark you down for a medium in white.

When you (and others) make the donation, we can put you in touch with the shipper. Postage is included in the $40 so the box operator only needs an address.

And TS, that's great too! Let's see if there are any shirts left by Christmas Eve and hope whatever there is will fit your 12-Days contest winner! Good stuff.

Oh, and harrya I just saw your post. Do you want that XL in yellow or white?

I love the shiny wrapping paper. Quite in keeping with the xmas spirit. I trust you've promised your lads all a big (but non-arriving) prezzy?

Damn good work!

It's a great deal everyone - you also get the benefit of having something that kept a lad or two busy making it, and away from real victims. Very Happy

I see that some people have stepped up and said that they will take a t-shirt. That's wonderful news, but as a reminder, payments must be sent to Eater:

[email protected] (edited to put in correct addy - SP)

Since no one has sent in their payment yet, can we see who will be the first to send it and receive their t-shirt? Very Happy

Breddan - that's what happens when I post when I haven't had my coffee yet. It was obvious that I had PayPal on the brain. Embarassed

All donations for Premium memberships must be made to [email protected] in order to qualify for a t-shirt.

Thanks, Sheboppe and Breddan. I probably should have put the link in my opening post, but have added this to my signature so no more excuses.

And really, who wouldn't want to be seen (cutting the grass?) in a chemical orphanage t-shirt? Send those donations to 419Eater now and help support our website! You know you want to... Very Happy

@JBD - Sure, there is XL in yellow available. Very Happy Send you donation to Eater and and the shirt will be on its way! Remember to include a note saying you want a t-shirt when you do the paypal thing and then you can make your own arrangements with the shipper about an address.

@dr stephen - Thanks for asking. The idea for existing members was to renew for another year, but since your donation was so recent (and because it took me a couple weeks longer to get this announced than I wanted... Embarassed) I'm sure we can work something out. You'll still need to add $10 for postage, but as long as your donation was $30 minimum (or want to top-up to that amount) I don't see any problem. The idea is to have fun and raise money for Eater, so this does the trick too. Wink Thanks!

Anyone else renewing and receiving a t-shirt? Please remember that donations must be sent in ASAP so that the shipping can be arranged. 'Tis the season to be jolly, and the lines are long at the post office to ship t-shirts. The sooner that you renew or purchase a Premium membership, the quicker you will receive your shirt.

I see that a few have said that they want a t-shirt - have your donations been sent to Eater so that the requested shirts can be removed from the inventory and packaged for shipping? Very Happy

^^ Yes. When people send their donation, they should please get in touch with Sheboppe by PM to sort out the address and other details for shipping. So far only one confirmed donation received (thank you, Rodus!).

@ Lester, thanks also for saying you plan to pitch in early for renewal - a large yellow has been reserved for you.

@ everyone, keep those orders (and donations) coming!
