Evel Knievel passed away today (October 17 1938 - Nov 30 2007) @ 69 years of age.

As A kid I grew up really looking up to Evel Knievel. He will be missed

Sadly it seems the famous folks die in pair of threes - wonder who will be the 3rd - seems a sports theme going -

But yes i remember seeing him while I was a bit younger as well.

He was quite a showman...

I think he would say that he made his final jump today.

I remember watching his attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon. I was around 10 at the time. Me and my friends ruined many Schwinn Stingrays trying to duplicate his feats.

I think many of us will remember doing ridiculously mental things on our bikes to emulate Evel... Laughing

I can remember riding my bike straight off the roof of a 12ft high garage to the amazement of onlookers. I still have the scars up my right arm..... Rolling Eyes

How about a tribute to Evel of hooking some lads into 'stunt' baits...

A true entertainer. I remember my wind-up Evel Knievel motorcycle thing I had as a kid. It was the coolest!

^^I had the same thing- it never quite worked like it did in the commercials.

I remember begging my mom to let me stay up late and watch him jump the Snake River Canyon....I fell asleep during the build-up.

Farewell Evel, you will be sadly missed.

Anyone who chose to jump a heavy Harley XR750 when he could have had some lightweight tinsel and plastic Japanese bike is OK in my book.
